Shimoga: The Shimoga Zone consisting of parishes, namely, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Infant Jesus Church- Sharavathinagar, Good Shepherd Church - Gopala and St Anthony's Church- Ragigudda had Christian Life Seminar (CLS) for six couples. Four families’ from Gopala and one each from Cathedral and Sharavathinagar participated in the CLS. It is the first stage of entry into Missionary Families of Christ.
Earlier the CLS began on 6 August 2023 at 3pm with registration, ice-breakers and praise and worship. The MFC teams from Bangalore and Shimoga led the sessions. The themes for the Seminar are as follows:
Jesus the Messiah.
Called to witness.
Repentance and Faith.
The gift of the Holy Spirit.
Growing in the Spirit.
The Life and Mission of MFC.
It was accompanied with Praise and Worship songs, action songs, Adoration, Confession etc.
Mr Naveen Kumar S.V who participated in the Seminar spoke of its usefulness and how they could become missionaries in the context of where they live and work. Mrs Maria expressed that for the first time she was invited to speak from the dais, but which she did proudly.
Altogether there were 52 participants including children. While the lessons were being conducted for the couples, children were given pep talks. They had drawing competition and initiation in Bible knowledge.
The Director of Sanjeevana, Family Commission, offered the Holy Eucharist and preached on the Transfiguration of the Lord. The Seminar was well appreciated and the participants personally expressed that it would help them to build better families but expected more families to participate in the future.
The Seminar concluded with a thanksgiving prayer and a blessing over all the participants.
