The Mahaila Sanghatane of St Joseph’s Church Sagar celebrated the feast of our Lady of Lourdes on Saturday, February 10, 2024. A large number of parishioners, particularly women, joined the celebration. At 5 pm the procession was held starting from the Grotto of our Lady, reciting Holy Rosary and singing the hymns to our Lady. This devotional procession ended at 6 pm, the procession reached the church for the festive Eucharistic Celebration. Fr. Vishal Melroy Pinto was the main celebrant with the Parish priest Msgr. Fr. Felix Joseph Noronha present as the co-celebrant. Deacon Michael Dass gave the introduction to the celebration.
Fr Vishal briefly explained the significance of the celebration, recounting how Pope John Paul II made this a day to pray for the healing of the infirm and specially prayed for the people of the Parish who are not enjoying good health. Mgr. Felix Noronha himself shared his experience of the Shrine of Lourdes and how people are healed. Fr Vishal gave a short reflection on the readings and how it is linked with the feast of our Lady. The Mahila Sanghatane of the Parish who had coordinated the entire programme along with Mgr. Felix Noronha, thanked the Priests and all those for joining the celebration and distributed sweets at the end of the Mass to all present there.
