Chrism Mass at Diocese of Shimoga led by Bishop Francis Serrao SJ.
Shivamogga, March 22, 2024: Diocese of Shimoga celebrated Chrism Mass on March 21st, 2024 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shivamogga.
On March 20th all Clergy serving in the Diocese of Shimoga gathered at the Pastoral Renewal Centre, Sannidhi, Shivamogga for the Recollection. Fr Jossie D'Mello, SJ preached the Recollection. At 6:15 pm he spoke on 'Interiority'. 7:15pm, he led the adoration.
On Day 2, March 21st, at 9 am Fr Jossie SJ dealt with the theme, 'Discernment in troubled times'. At 10:30am confessions were organised. At 12. 00 noon Bishop Francis Serrao SJ addressed his Clergy and gave his message. Msgr. Felix Joseph Noronha, Vicar General of Diocese of Shimoga thanked the preacher and the Bishop Francis for organising the Recollection. He also thanked Sannidhi Director Msgr. Duming Dias.
In the evening at 5:30pm Most Rev. Dr Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of Diocese of Shimoga concelebrated Holy Eucharist with his Priests at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shivamogga. Large number of faithful and religious sisters participated in the Chrism Mass. Bishop Elect of the Diocese of Karwar, Msgr. Duming Dias preached a meaningful homily on the occasion. Bishop blessed the oils and priests renewed their commitment to the Church.
