Unity Octave was inaugurated on January 18, 2024, at St. Thomas CSI Church in Shimoga with an opening prayer service. The prayer service was led by Rev. Paul Shinde, the Presbyter in charge of the church, who welcomed all attendees. Rev. Benet from Telugu CSI Church accompanied him during the event.
Fr. Sunil Rodrigues OCD, CRI president of Shimoga Diocese, delivered a message emphasizing the need for unity among all Christians. Many pastors, including Rev. PD Yesudas, the president of Shimoga District Pastors Association, were present at the inauguration.
Also in attendance were Fr. Nelson Pinto OCD, the Director for Commission for Ecumenism in Shimoga Diocese, and Mr. Davis N.P, the Director for Commission for Ecumenism in Bhadravathi Diocese. They expressed gratitude to all who had gathered for the occasion.
Throughout the Unity Octave, prayer services are organized in various parts of Shimoga and Bhadravathi. The event aimed to foster unity among Christians in the region.
