On 10-09-2022 Prison Ministry India, Diocesan unit of Shimoga ,karnataka had conducted volley ball match in the Central Prison Shivamogga in collaboration with St. Charles degree college, New town, Bhadravathi.
The match was between three teams namely Central Prison Shivamogga staff, Central Prison Shivamogga convict prisoners and St. Charles degree College Students.
During this match the Superintendent of Central Prison Dr.Anitha BDS, Assistant Superintendent Mr Shivanand Shivapur ,Sr Jacintha Superior of St. Charles Convent, Bhadravathi,Sr. Therese Co-ordinator for Prison Ministry Karnataka State unit,Sr Shanthi, Administrator of St Charles degree college,Sr Leena,Sr Helen Moras, Co-ordinator for Prison Ministry, Diocese of Shimoga and the staff of Central Prison Shivamogga were present.
The tough competition was finally won by the students of St. Charles degree college .The Superintendent gave away the mementos to the teams and congratulated them.
For the students it was an enriching experience of visiting the prison and getting to know about the prison and it's condition and for the inmates, it was a time of fun, enjoyment, resilience builder, team spirit and a change in their routin work. No doubt, the students returned from the Central Prison with a pleasant and rich experience.
