Sr. Elize Lourdh SCB, along with the members of the Women's Commission of the Diocese of Shimoga visited the Central Prison for Women in Shimoga on Friday, 15th of September 2023 to celebrate the Constitution day and Ganesha Festival with them. The programme began with the reading of the Preamble of the Constitution slowly and diligently.
The Superintendent of the Prison and inmates listened with rapt attention. The Women’s Team organised a meaningful cultural program for the inmates extending our Solidarity with the people there. The final year students of Manasa Trust Kateel Ashok Pai College presented beautiful dances and cultural programme entertaining the inmates of the prison.
They distributed sweets to all inmates depicting the festival celebration. The Women’s Commission Members, the students along with the prison inmates were extremely happy with the activities. The Diocesan Women’s Commission is extremely grateful to the Prison Superintendent for the support and presence during the visit to the Central Prison.
