Youth Commission of Shimoga Diocese
Yuvamitra, the youth Commission of Shimoga Diocese, organised a half day training programme for the I.C.Y.M (Indian Catholic youth movement) and YCS (Young Students Movement) unit of St Anthony's parish Shanthinagar, Shimoga on 18 September 2022.
The programme commenced with Holy Eucharist with Fr Pius D’Souza as the main celebrant. In his homily he stressed the importance of Christian values in the life of the young people, presenting them with Biblical role models whom they could emulate. He explained how the ICYM and YCS people could be of service in the parish dedicating their time at the service of others.
After the Eucharist there was an input session for the parent of young people explain how they can play a great role in training the young in building the family spirit, leading them to the creation of a better society. This was followed by a Training session for the YCS members on YCS/YCM Methodology. There was a training session on Budgeting, Planning and preparing the Action Plan for the ICYM members.
Miss Supriya V the ICYM President explained the role of our Catholic Youth in the supporting of the Parish and helping out in the society. The Yuvamitra is grateful to Rev. Fr Jacob M.J the Parish Priest meticulous and systematic organisation of the programme.
