May 3, 2022 : Diocese of Shimoga organizes special camps 'Jeevamrutha' for 9th standard as well as 'Dikshoochi' for 10th standard Catholic students every year. Due to Covid situation this was not held for the last two years.

This year's camps were held for Little Flower Deanery and Holy Family Deanery at Infant Jesus Church, Challakere. Dean Rev. Fr George K. A and Fr. Alvin Stanislaus were in charge of the camp. This was held immediately after Easter from April 17th evening 4pm to 18th 4pm.

Meantime Mount Carmel Deanery camps were held under the guidance of its Dean Rev. Fr. Stany D'Souza at Diocesan centre for Pastoral Renewal "Sannidhi", Shivamogga. Fr Steven D'Sa and Fr Duming Dias took responsibility for the same.

St. John Maria Vianney Deanery held their Camps under the guidance of its Dean Rev. Fr Ronald Veigas at Diocesan centre for Pastoral Renewal Sannidhi, Shivamogga from April 30th to May 1st. Fr Paul Crasta and Fr Vijay Kumar were in charge of the camp.

These camps were initiated by Most Rev. Dr Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of Diocese of Shimoga. 'Jeevamrutha' is for the 9th std students where teachings are based on the values of life from the Gospels.  'Dikshoochi' is for the 10th std students and is about life orientation and what is next in life. Also there were various sessions on how to cope up with present day challenges. Renowned resource persons guided the students. Bishop and Deans visited the camps and motivated the students.

From Our Lady of Assumption Church, Hiriyur 17 students took part in the Little Flower Deanery camp.
