On Saturday 18th November, 2024 evening, children’s day was celebrated in the Smudaya Bhavan of the Cathedral Parish. Fr. Stany Dsouza and Fr. Vinod Saldhana planned the entire programme meticulously. All the children were informed to come early for the programme and the normal catechism classes were cancelled. The programme commenced with a short prayer which was followed by activities and competitions for the children. There was an enthusiastic participation from all children. Cultural programmes started at 4 p.m.
Children participated in dancing, singing, acting, mono acting and fancy dress competitions. We had among the audience all the priests from the campus, sisters from the neighbouring convents and some special invitees. Immediately after the cultural program all the participants went to the church for the Eucharistic celebration. Fr. Stany Dsouza the parish priest of Sacred Heart Cathedral was the main celebrant with other priests concelebrating. The children did the reading and singing for the mass. . Prize distribution ceremony followed the mass and the children were thrilled to receive prizes in front of their parents. 
Fr Stany D;Souza, the parish priest thanked all the children for their total participation, their parents for bringing them the Church and sponsors for their generosity and support in making possible to have good gifts. The parish priest thanked Fr. Lawrence, Fr. Vinod Saldhana and Deacon Jeson Roy for their hard work in organising such an event. The programme ended with vote of thanks.
