Gopala, Mar. 06, 2019: Reconciliation with God, with oneself, with others and the nature brings us more closet to God and one another, said Bishop Francis Serrao, SJ, the Bishop of Shimoga in his homily during the homily preached at Annual Feast Mass of Good Shepherd Church, Gopala, Shivamogga.

The Annual Feast was celebrated with great devotion and glory. Around 39 priests from in and outside the Diocese and 800 devotees participated in the feast. The feast celebrations started with flag hoisting on 27.02.2019.

Very Rev. Fr Gilbert Lobo, the dean of Carmel deanery, hoisted the flag, celebrated the mass and preached a meaningful homily on the theme: ‘Jesus the Good Shepherd – the beginning and summit of Reconciliation’. Triduum devotion followed the flag hoisting. Fr Joseph Thoompanal preached on ‘Reconciliation with God, on the first day of the triduum and Fr Vivek SDB on‘Reconciliation with oneself’ on the following day. On the third day there was a car procession on the main streets of Gopala. Fr Arogyaraj SDB preached a meaningful homily on the importance of unity among all sections of people as we are all the children of same God.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Around 500 devotees participated in the procession who were served dinner thereafter. The feast provided anoccasion for the parishioners for the spiritual renewal.
