The First Bishop of the diocese of Shimoga and the First President of SMSSS, Most Rev. Dr Ignatius Pinto returned to the Lord on 08 February 2023 at 1.30 AM. Prayer service was held this morning in Chaitanya, SMSSS, for the repose of the departed soul. About 125 beneficiaries and the staff participated in the prayer service and offered their loving tribute.
Based on the passages from the Sacred Scriptures, Bishop Francis Serrao SJ gave a short reflection on what is life and noted that death is not the opposite of life. All are called upon to live a life which will be remembered even after one’s death. The bishop concluded his reflection saying, archbishop Ignatius Pinto lives even after his death because of his services. His love for the poor and the marginalized will never be forgotten.
At the end of the prayer service, floral tribute was offered by each and every person who participated in the prayer service and prayed for the repose of the departed soul. May the noble soul of Archbishop Emeritus Ignatius Pinto Rest in Peace.
