Intercessory Night Vigil at Sannidhi, Diocese of Shimoga
Shivamogga, January 29, 2023: With the guidance of Most Rev. Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of Diocese of Shimoga "Jeevodaya" Diocese Service of Communion (DSC) organised intercessory Night Vigil at "Sannidhi" A Centre for Pastoral Renewal of Diocese of Shimoga.
Program began at January 28th at 9pm DSC Spiritual Director Fr Franklin D'Souza spoke on the importance of the Intercessory Night Vigil. DSC secretary Mrs. Elvira Fernandes, DSC member Mr. Francis D'Mello, DSC intercessory ministry incharge Mr. John Lobo & Mrs. Mary Louis and Spiritual Director Fr Franklin D'Souza led the vigil.
From 10:30 pm to 12 midnight Mr. John Lobo led the intercession with the Praise and Worship, Holy Rosary, Bible reading and Divine Mercy Chaplet. Intentions for five decades were; for the Bishop and his intentions, for the Priests and their intentions, for the Religious and their intentions, for the faithful and their intentions and for the Universal Church and its intentions.
After the break from 12:30 am to 2 am Intercessory Way of the Cross led by DSC team. There were fourteen intentions, they were; for the couple & their intentions, for the elders & their intentions, for the sick & suffering, for the children, for the Youth, Deliverance from various addictions, for the Parish Pastoral Council & Parish Finance Committee, for the Small Christian Community, for the Legion of Mary & St. Vincent De Paul, for the Diocesan Service of Communion & its activities, for the Altar servers, for the Seminarians & religious candidates, for those who are on death bed and for the repose of the souls.
After the break 2nd part of intercession began at 2:30 am to 4am this was led by Mrs. Mary Louis with Praise and Worship, Holy Rosary, Bible reading and Divine Mercy Chaplet. Intentions of the five decades were;
a) For the Mount Carmel Deanery Parishes, Parish Priest, Parish community, Religious communities, all the institutions, all the commissions, MCES and for the SMSSS.
b) For the Little Flower Deanery, Parish Priest, Parish community, Religious communities and all the institutions.
c) For the Holy Family Deanery, Parish Priest, Parish community, Religious communities and all the institutions.
d) For the John Marie Vianney Deanery, Parish Priest, Parish community, Religious communities and all the institutions.
e) For the Sannidhi & its programs, for the Priests those who serve outside the diocese, retired Priests and for the Completion of construction of Gopala Church, Anandapura Church, Ashok Siddapura project, Old Town project, Holalkere project and completion of other developmental works
After the break at 4:30am Fr Franklin D'Souza led healing and anointing session for those prayer warriors gathered for the night vigil. He also prayed for the World leaders and for the peace among the nations & religions.
At 5:30am Fr Franklin D'Souza celebrated Holy Eucharist and thanked God for the grace of intercessory night Vigil. On behalf of DSC Coordinator Mr. David Raj, Intercession incharge Mr. John Lobo thanked those who gathered for the night vigil. Diocesan Charismatic Renewal named as DSC will conduct every month intercessory night vigil for the Diocesan intentions. Sannidhi Director Fr Duming Dias and staff organised supper and tea at every break and morning breakfast for the participants.
