Chitradurga, Hiriyur, 15 January 2023:
The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Franklin D'Souza, held the meeting of girls and women at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Hiriyur, Chitradurga District, Diocese of Shimoga on January 15 January at 5 pm. Meeting began with Divine Mercy Rosary.
Since year 2023 in the Diocese of Shimoga is declared as Year of the Woman and the Girl Child this meeting was called to plan out activities for the Year.
From among the girls, Sushma J. P, Stephy Melanie, Joyce Venila, Jivita, Anisha Josephine and Anannya Maria were the members of coordination committee.
From among Women, Magdala Maria, Christy Jonita, Monica, Manjula Joseph, Madhura, Stella Mary, Margaret Sheela, Smitha, Leena and Savita were selected as the members of Coordination Committee.
Election for the women Association were held at the same time.

Members made very important and practical suggestions for the empowerment of the women and girl children of the Parish.
Meeting was concluded at 6 pm with the blessings of the Parish Priest.
