SHIMOGA-CRI UNIT


Shimoga-CRI unit organized a meeting on 27th November at Sannidhi - Diocesan Pastoral Centre. There were 82 participants. Day's schedule included: A prayer dance by the candidates of FDM congregation, a welcome address by Fr Jerome Moras OCD, CRI-President, an input session on 'The Protection of Right to Freedom of Religion Act, 2021(Anti-conversion Bill) and its challenges in our Ministry' by Rev. Fr Francis Assisi D'Almeida.

After providing an overview of the anti-conversion law, he explained in detail some sections pertaining to our ministry. Bishop Francis Serrao SJ, addressed the gathering and delivered his Christmas message. Bishop placed emphasis on ' Christmas - a Celebration and a Challenge'. A celebration of life and love; a challenge to be human and loving, to be just and self-sacrificing.

A feast of God's coming down to where we are, inorder to take us to where He is. Bishop extended his Christmas greetings by distributing delicious cakes. The meaningful Eucharistic celebration and the homily focussed on the significance of Advent journey. Sr Pramila D'Almeida SCB, Executive Secretary, read and discussed in short the circular of KRCR President. Christmas greetings were extended to all by cutting of the Christmas cake and funfilled games.

Sr Sheetal SSpS, Joint Secretary proposed the vote of thanks. Day was concluded with a fellowship meal. The unanimous support of zonal office bearers and members is commendable.
