On 26-10-2022 the deepavali celebration was held at Carmel School,Vidyanagar under the leadershi p of Fr. Jerome Moras, OCD. Most Rev. Dr Francis Serraro, SJ, the Bishop of Shimoga, Mr. Prashant, Mr Shivmurthy, Fr Eugene Lobo SJ, Sr Evelyn, BS, were present along with other priests, Religious nuns, parents and children of the School.
School children performed dances and a skit regarding deepavali. Mr. Shivmurthy spoke about the significance of Deepavali celebration. Bishop in his speech explained to the audience that the Deepavali should be celebrated every day by lighting everyone's lamp.
We need to become a lamp ourselves. May this celebration of lights bring joy, peace and prosperity. The welcome speech was proposed by Fr Jerome Moras and Vote of thanks by Mrs Mary D'Souza. As a solidarity with our brotheren after the celebration we lit lamps and burst krakars, which was followed by agape.
