A training program on the Preparation of the Parish Pastoral Plan was conducted for the Parish Pastoral Council and Parish Finance Council Secretaries, sisters and young clergy of the diocese in Sannidhi on 18 September 2022.
Most Rev Dr Francis Serrao SJ spoke about the essentials of the church and enlightened the participants on the church matters. The chief resource person was Msgr Lourdusamy T, Professor, St Peter's Pontifical Institute, Bengaluru who spoke about the Parish the role of the PPC and PFC members in thr parish.
He also dealt with: What is Planing? Essentials in planning- why and what; Various Pastoral Commissions in the Parish,; Implementation of the the action plan and evaluation.
Earlier in the beginning, the training session began with a hymn to the Holy Spirit followed by the Gospel reading. Mr Francis proposed the vote of thanks. Out of 22 parishes, 16 parishes and out of 17 mission centres, 7 centres participated in the process. There were 52 participants. The Director of Sannidhi and Coordinator of the Pastoral Commissions of the Diocese informed that the training session today was as part of the first stage of training for PPC and PFC members, sisters and young clergy to prepare the Parish Pastoral plan and the second stage would be at the Parish level.
There in the parishes and mission centres the PPC and PFC members and offices bearers of various associations would be trained to prepare Parish Pastoral Plan- 2023. The participants appreciated the initiative of the Bishop to have such trainings in the parishes. The training session concluded at 3.20pm.
