It was a red letter day for the Diocese of Shimoga to see the birth of its Minor Seminary and the installation of Rev. Fr Santhosh Pereira as its first Rector and Fr Richard Mascarenhas SJ as its first Spiritual Director on the feast day of Corpus Christi on 19 June 2022.
Most Rev. Dr. Francis Serrao SJ, the Bishop of Shimoga during the solemn Eucharistic celebration gave the Decree and inaugurated the Minor Seminary with St. John Marie Vianney as its Patron.It was a joyful and a family experience where the parents of the Minor Seminarians and Deanary priests and Religious where present at the Eucharistic celebration.
Besides his message at the Eucharistic celebration Bishop also addressed the parents of the Seminarians asking them to be the part of formation team in forming their sons as future priests.
The new Rector without fail thanked the Bishop, the priests and religious, parents and all the inmates of new born Minor Seminary. The whole program came to a conclusion with an agape for all.
