Blessing of the Renovated School and Church building at St Francis Xavier Mission Centre, Chennagiri was done in the presence of the Parishioners by Bishop Francis Serrao SJ on Sunday 29 May 2022. Fr Santhosh D'Cunha, the Mission Director of St Francis Xavier Mission Centre, Fr Anthony Peter, the Dean, Fr Rondld D'Cunha, the Finance Officer of the Diocese and Fr Alphonse Lobo were present for the event.
The blessing of the renovated Church and the School was followed by blessing of the newly constructed washrooms for the Nursery School. Then the Holy Eucharist was celebrated by the Bishop presiding over it and gave a meaningful homily explaining the meaning and meaningfulness of the Ascension of our Lord.
The programme ended with honouring and thanking the dignitaries and all those who toiled to bring the work to its completion within a short time of just five months. In his address the Bishop singled out the dedicated work of Rev.Fr Santhosh D'Cunha and the Contractor, Mr Satish. He also appreciated the fine collaboration in Mission of Sr Genevieve and the community of Sisters of Charity of Navachethana Convent, Chennagiri. The programme which started at 5.30 PM ended at 7.45 PM.
