The popular kannada song, "Jeenugoodu navella, bereyaadare jenilla" (We are a bee-hive. We have no honey without unity) resounded in Mavinakere as Parish Level Samudayotsava (SCC Day) was celebrated with much joy and grandeur on March 8, 2020.

The celebration began at 9 am through a meaningful Liturgy with the Theme, "Transformation of our Communities." The main celebrant, Very Rev. Dr Anthony Peter, Rector of Harihar Basilica, highlighted the importance of collaboration in the Church through the well known story of the Tortoise and the Rabbit. Based on Acts 2:42, he said that the Church began as a small community of believers. The secret of its success was unity and fellowship.

After the Mass, light refreshments were served by the ICYM and YCS members. At 11 am, two lucky games were conducted for the SCCs by Very Rev Dr Anthony Peter. The first game was Passing the Gift and the second game was Dog and the Bone. All the SCCs participated actively. As all the SCCs played very well up to the end of the game, all the SCCs were declared as winners.

At 12 noon, the Chief Guests were led by little flower girls in procession to "Samanvaya" Parish Hall. The children danced beautifully to the theme song of Samudayotsava. The PPC Secretary, Mr Anthony D'Costa welcomed the Guests and Parishioners. Very Rev. Dr Anthony Peter, Fr Venus Praveen, and the Animators of all the SCCs were escorted to the Dais. In his presidential address, Very Rev Dr. Anthony Peter appreciated the SCCs of Mavinakere adding that they are a model to other SCCs. The unity of these SCCs has made a paradigm shift in the Parish, he said. He called upon the people to build up the SCCs in the coming years.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of the lucky games as well as to the top scorers in Sunday Catechism and the Catechism teachers. The children presented an attractive dance, "One and only Yesu Nam" . Mr. Francis Olivera of Sirsi gave useful information on organic farming and healthy living. Vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Leona Rebello. Mr. Joel Pais compered the programme. Mrs. Dayana Colaco conducted the prize distribution ceremony.
